Hello and welcome to YQ – simply more you

Colin Morris

I am so excited to be introducing you to YQ more you. It is essentially about you and me and everyone in between.

In this, my first ever blog, we’re going to unpack some of the thinking behind YQ as a practise that, once integrated into your life, has the potential to help you ‘switch on” your best life ever.

Life.

So much has been written about this common denominator. Life is a lot like the common saying that says: “Either the day can run you or you can run the day.” In short, YOU can run your life, or your life can run you.  The person in true control of life is the person who claims the title “I”. And here’s the irony, the “I” is also the “eye” because how your life unfolds starts and ends with the way in which you see the world.

For just a moment, stop all your thoughts and actions. Find a quiet spot, perhaps in the bath or in a serene spot outside, and just touch base with HOW you SEE the world. Go within yourself and assess the way you view the world.  Are you a glass half full / a glass half empty or the glass can be topped up kind of person?

We tend to see the world through a filter. A filter that is of our own making and a filter that is also shaded by so many outside influences.  And here is what you need to know in terms of the YQ practice: you can and should control that filter.

You get to choose HOW you see the world.

And once you begin to pay attention to your perspective on all things related to you, you will begin to make changes that will positively change your life for the better.

My best friend, Ed wants to chip in here.

This is what he has to say: yes, it takes discipline. You will need to be constantly aware of how you are viewing whatever is on your mind and you will need to stretch your thought processes into all sorts of new directions.  But once you’ve adopted this as a YQ practice, it will become second nature and, in no time at all, you will fully enjoy the benefits of being “simply more you” than ever before!

Take care and be blessed,

Col

The I part symbolises my I

The I part, or stem / stake of the Y symbolises my I, It is important to habituate the process of getting in touch with your I, to Halt your thoughts for a moment and check in with yourself. Change your I if desired, by engaging in simple exercises that are taught.
