“Now that’s a title that jumps clean off the shelf and smacks you between the eyes,” comments Ed having scanned the cover of Tina Lifford’s book: The Little Book of Big Lies: A Journey into Inner Fitness.
“It sure is and it’s on the money.”
“And why’s that, Col?” asks Ed.
“In it, Tina, an acclaimed American actress, shares personal stories and insights on self-improvement and personal development. What makes it different from other self-help books is this key statement:”
And with that, Ed and I settled down for a very thought-provoking chat that I feel compelled to share with you.
We agreed that it is all too easy to say: “You matter,” “Be unique, and don’t blindly follow the crowd,” and “You’re a masterpiece, destined for greatness.” You need only go onto social media platforms to see that we are bobbing around in a sea of platitudes. What does it all mean? Where’s the depth?
Here’s the catch.
It’s all lip service unless you do the work and go on a very personal journey to truly understand who you are. The journey within will lead you to accepting yourself, honouring your truth, and living an authentic life boldly. Living a life with a high You Quotient.
So, who EXACTLY are you?
When last did you tune in to your inner voice? And what is it saying?
And if you’re thinking that this all new-age mumbo-jumbo then let me share with you that it was Baltasar Gracián who said: “Self-knowledge is the beginning of self-improvement.” He is best remembered for his book “The Art of Worldly Wisdom” first published in 1647.
Now for the good news.
You don’t need to do this alone.
Partner with YQMoreYou and together let’s go on a voyage of authentic discovery and self-development. Drop me a line and let’s chat.
